Two cute flapper hats for sale!

My pin ups.

I've been shooting my friends as pin up girls for posters for a short film thats being made in Finland. Kalle, the guy who asked me to take these photos suggested making a calendar out of them, which I think is a great idea. I only need six more photos and i'm good. Though I want to do holiday themed ones for december, oct, and Feb. So keep your eye out, i'll hopefully have calendars up for sale on my etsy site sometime later this year for 2010. Some of the posters don't have the Finnish phrases on them quite yet.

postmortems.

So far my collection of postmortem photos is very very small. Only these two photographs of people in their coffins, I hope to find some of the older, posed photographs someday. Trouble is, everyone is pretty good at marking those up as high as possible, atleast online, i've yet to come across any in antique shops yet besides these. Yeah, I may be a little morbid, but atleast i'm interesting.

Mermaids

A few weeks ago I decided I wanted to decorate my bathroom in retro mermaid stuff. So here is the outcome so far:

My friend Colleen gave me these when I told her about wanting to put vintage mermaids in my bathroom, I love them, I was actually looking at the exactly same set on ebay, but they were so much I couldnt bring myself to buy them. This one I bought on ebay, and over spent on it in my opinion, but I love it still.

This is a print I bought at the curious bookshop today. They have so many adorable pin up prints there, I want to blow a whole pay check there someday.A non mermaid related thing, but still bathroom related is my retro scale. An estate sale find for $2, you cant tell in the photo, but its burgundy and very pale pink.

Pin up shoot for a Finnish film. #1

Recently my dear friend Ksusha and I did a photoshoot for retro posters that will be hanging as props in a scene in a short from the my friend Kalle is working on in the beautiful country of Finland. These are the photos, but not the finished product of the poster. Plus I shot three more lovely ladies yesterday for the same project. So their photos will be up soon as well.

The Corset is an antique store find, and the skirt is a thrift shop find. The parosol also came from an antique shop.

pussy cat, pussy cat.

The most important things kept inside the walls of the little house are the kitties. So where better to start than with them?

This is Bob, he's the oldest, how old? I'm not sure.

Willow is the second oldest, he's new to the little house gang, but i've had him since he was a baby.

Then there is Samson, he's fabulous, he's fluffy, and he likes to flop around.
And then there is Lily, shes in heat and acting like a total nutcase, which is adorable, but she'll be getting fixed very soon. Now for kitty finds around the house.

These little guys climbing on my broken clock and my lamp shade are estate sale finds.
They reminded me of the one my mom has had since I was a kid.

This white cat dish was something we found in the closet at the little house one day (Kevin's parents lived here in the 70's so we find random things all the time).

This Brass cat has sat by my cat's dishes since I was born, now it sits just above the cat dishes on the lowest shelf in the kitchen.

This is my newest cat find, I love the big cheesey porcelain cats, this one is from the 80's, I got it for a bargin at my favorite antique store. I think I named it, but I forgot the name, so as of right now its the nameless cat.
